The IB Curriculum:
Students in the IB Diploma Programme at CCIS study six courses, typically three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). The subjects on offer include:
– Group 1: English A Language and Literature, Arabic A Language and Literature, English A Literature
– Group 2: Arabic B, English B, French B, French ab initio
– Group 3: Business & Management, Psychology
– Group 4: Biology, Chemistry, Physics
– Group 5: Math Analysis and Approaches (AA) HL, Math Applications and Interpretation (AI) SL
– Group 6 or elective: Visual Arts
In addition to these subject groups, all students participate in the core elements of the IB Diploma:
– Extended Essay (EE)
– Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
– Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)
These core components are integral to the programme, enhancing students’ educational experience while encouraging practical application of knowledge and skills.
Assessment:

The DP curriculum
The Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.
Through the Diploma Programme (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.
